

North Side’s skyline will soon be a little brighter thanks to a new Mattress Factory installation. The sculpture Acupuncture; named after its piercing appearance, is designed by well known light artist Hans Peter Kuhn and built with custom 65-100 foot LED lit tubes.
With the design, permits, and engineering complete there is still a need to gain additional founding for the project. The Mattress Factory has raised the majority of the cost and is appreciative for any community donations made through their FirstGiving page. Once completed Acupuncture will bring new attention to the North Side skyline and add additional beauty to our city.

Levi’s is throwing a concert series this weekend to help benefit the steel mill town of Braddock. The concerts will be live streamed via their website

The Breathe Project an advocacy to improve the air quality in Pittsburgh and the surrounding region have put together a set of fantastic videos discussing the issues and concerns for the current state of our air quality. More recently their interactive website launched presenting the impacts, sources, and solutions for our region.

There’s two months left for BikePGH to accomplish it’s goal of 2012 members by 2012. The goal is getting close with only needing 300 additional members.
